Guest Fashionista – Maggie Szabo “Love how you FEEL”

Maggie: Flowy, fun, and flattering are three words that I would use to describe my fashion. I like to feel good in what I’m wearing, and for my 5-foot self, I often have a hard time finding clothes that fit me well! Being a short girl, things can look very different on me than they do on the hanger; they don’t fit well in the right places or just don’t work for my body type.
So, I have a rule that when I’m shopping… it’s only worth it for me to buy something if I LOVE how I FEEL when I wear it. Finding the right clothes isn’t always easy, but when I discover those gems, it makes all the difference.
Where have I discovered those gems you ask? Great question! I always seem to find my fave outfits at the most random places; vintage shops, little independent boutiques, but sometimes also at the popular ‘go-to’ places like Nordstrom. Lately I have been LOVING Nasty Gal on Melrose avenue in West Hollywood. Also, there is this awesome pop-up shop on Sundays at the West Hollywood Farmer’s Market called J.D. Luxe – They totally outfitted a truck to be a portable clothing store! They always have adorable outfits that you can’t find anywhere else. I love clothes that have cinched waistlines to help avoid the boxy look, which they do really well. But here’s my last tip… don’t ever hesitate to get something altered or shortened at the seamstress if need be. You’ve found the most unique piece, but not quite right on your body? The fit is the most important aspect of fashion to looking good and feeling good in your clothes. Those extra $15 will be well spent!
