Are You Confident about YOU?
Career confidence is vital to your success as a professional. If you don’t believe in yourself then you can’t really expect other people to believe in you.
Fake it Til you Make it
This is a timeless saying and the main reason for this is because it actually works. A lot of career professionals feel as though they are just not doing enough, or even that they don’t know enough. This is understandable, but act confident even if you don’t feel like it. This will have a positive effect on your performance, and it will also make it much easier for you to become the professional you were born to be.
Progress over Perfection
You will never be perfect. (I know, it sucks for us perfectionists.) It’s impossible because nobody in the world is perfect. If you want to further your career, then you have to focus on progress instead. Every good thing you do is one step forward, and every accomplishment you make is a step in the right direction. Focus on learning from your mistakes and don’t get too down when something doesn’t quite go your way. When you are able to do this, you will soon find that you are able to push yourself more than ever before.
Look to your Mentors
If you want to further your career, then you have to make sure that you look to your mentors. Find someone famous who works in your industry, or connect with other professionals on LinkedIn. When you do, you can then either ask for their guidance or try and follow in their footsteps. Some people are afraid that successful people won’t have time to help them. That may be true, but you never know unless you ask.
Train
If you have never gone under any kind of training before, then you need to make sure that you do. Training is one of the best ways for you to boost your confidence because it helps you to realize your true potential and expands your knowledge. It also helps you to dress the part too. This may sound silly, but if you want to become a teacher then buy some teacher t-shirts or even adopt a more professional look. When you do, you will soon find that you are able to boost your confidence and your attitude towards your profession. It works!
Write Down your Goals
If you have goals, write them down. This will help them to become more real. If you don’t have any goals, then now is the time for you to change that. Think about it… where do you want to be in 5 years? Or even 10 years?
