Summer Is Here! (Almost… :))

 In Blog, Fashion Blog

Hi Fashionistas!

Summer is ALMOST here, and I’m all about ultra soft fabrics that breathe, short shorts, comfy wedges, and stacking jewelry to add some flair.

Today, I am super excited because I have guest fashionista, Shae Wilbur, joining us! Shae is an amazing TV host and musician. She has not only appeared on the Wendy Williams show, HLN’s “The Daily Share,” and FOX’s “Dish Nation,” but also Season 8 of “American Idol” as a favorite of the judges! You go girl!

I kinda wish she could sing you her fashion report, but instead, we took some dope photos. 🙂 lol But who knows, duet in our future?! Take it away, Shae…

SHAE: Thanks, Lauren! Hey lovelies! My name is Shae Wilbur and I’m so excited to be a guest blogger today! I am a TV host by trade… Lauren graciously mentioned the Wendy Williams and “Dish Nation,” but I hope you also join me on CNN and Hollywood Today Live! I am fashion obsessed, beauty obsessed, and dog obsessed. 🙂 Today, I wanted to share with you one of my all-time favorite go to looks when it comes to my every day style.

First of all, can I just say that I am rejoicing over the fact that it is finally T-shirt and shorts weather here in LA!?!? I am officially ready for summer!

So, when it comes to my “warm weather look,” I typically lean towards casual chic. I love taking a bunch of basics and accessorizing them with fun pieces.

For today’s #ootd I went with my fav vintage burn out tee.  This one actually came from one of those cheap little beachy shops
(whose name I can’t even remember).  I wish I bought five more of them because I wear it all the time.

I paired it with these super cute distressed jean shorts by Vici Collection and casual heels by Charles David. FYI, You’ll be seeing A TON of “slip on shoes” this upcoming season, they’re the hottest reinvented trend coming our way!

I topped it all off with some of my new favorite jewelry.  Obviously as you guys know chokers are still a huge trend and this season designers are getting a little more creative with their pieces.  I love how the wiring is done on the silver choker by Lovestruck, has a little bit of a western feel to it. I combined it with some really fun midi rings…The turquoise detail on the rings adds to that western flare that I love.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention my sunnies! I am absolutely in love with this style from DIFF eyewear.  The mirror finish on the lenses always makes photos pop, and I love that this one is multicolored looking.

So whether I’m running errands, heading to an audition, a meeting, or even to my next hosting gig… an outfit like this has just the right mix of casual vibes + put together flow.

LAUREN: Thanks, girl! Per usual, your fashion is right on point. 😉 I couldn’t agree more about the midi rings. The silver looks great with that burnt grey v-neck, but I’m more of a gold-accent sort of gal, so I paired my navy cut-off sleeve tank by Target with some gold stack rings by Lovestruck as well. The super-cool triangle white stone is the perfect accent ring to all of the gold spirals.

I paired this look with a denim short-short with lace detail, which I LOVE, because it’s so flattering to those long stems, ladies!

I decided to add a pop of color (it IS summer after all!) with my Jessica Simpson red pump heel. I love a nice pump in the summer instead of a stiletto because.. and I know it sounds weird… but that extra cushion underneath the ball of your foot will be magical after that 2nd (or 3rd) tequila when out dancing at that pool party or beach bar! Trust me, your feet will thank me!

Well, that’s it for today, girls. Get out there and soak in those summer rays! Shae, thanks again for being our guest fashionista! You rock. Ladies, if you dig any of the items you see on the blog, simply click the name of the brand and be directed right to their site to buy. Easy. 🙂
